Anyone for a Sausage Roll?

Our Chef Jack recently hosted a cooking demonstration.

He showed us various techniques and skills to make sausage rolls from scratch. Jack taught residents and members of the Bourne Community Hub the art of a perfect “Mirepoix”—which we now understand to be a base made from cooking onions, carrots, and celery.

Residents and guests set up their own stations with pastry, sausage meat, and various ingredients. Under Jack’s leadership, they followed along to make a delicious savoury snack that is simple enough to recreate on our own!

Jack kindly prepared some sausage rolls beforehand so we could taste them with a lovely cup of tea. And yes, they were delicious!
