Balloon Tennis

On Sunday afternoon, a few of us decided to expend some energy while many other residents chose to relax by watching the musical ‘South Pacific’ on the large television in our comfortable lounge.

However, Pat, Kathleen, Wendy, and June weren’t interested in putting their feet up; they wanted to burn some calories and that’s exactly what they did. We all went up to the top floor of Bourne View, where the light and airy Canopy Café is located. Our Colten Companion pushed back the tables and chairs, pumped up some balloons, and assembled the net.

We made our own rules: five serves each, and if the balloon landed on the floor on your side of the net, you won the point. With arms and legs flying everywhere, we hit the balloon with our hands, knees, and feet, determined not to let it touch the ground. In the end, it didn’t really matter who won because the fun we had throughout the afternoon outweighed the final score.
