Bourne View Presents…

6 January 2024

This week, six intrepid Bourne View residents, along with the Companionship Team, dazzled everyone with their performance of ‘Cinderella, a magical tale.’

It all began just two weeks ago with an initial group reading of the script. Parts were allocated, and rehearsals were squeezed in around activities.

The residents worked together, sharing many laughs along the way (Oh yes, they did). On the morning of the performance, costumes and props miraculously appeared, a frantic dress rehearsal ensued, and finally, the grand performance took place in the afternoon.

The Sandbanks Lounge was filled with residents and staff eager to watch, and everyone was delighted with the show.

Harold, our narrator, kept us all on track, Joan portrayed an enchanting Fairy Godmother, Terry and Peter brought hilarity as the evil Step Sisters, Wendy was the perfect Dandini (valet to the Prince, played by Corinne).

Zoe, supported brilliantly by Philip, was the ideal Cinderella, and the Prince was played by Corinne.

Afterwards, everyone chatted happily, sharing favourite moments while enjoying tea and cakes together.

The cast unanimously agreed that they thoroughly enjoyed the entire process, and plans are already underway for our next theatrical adventure.

This time, it will be a ‘play-in-a-day’ shortened version of Macbeth on January 16th, promising an afternoon of hubble, bubble, toil, and trouble!
