Celebration Of Life at Bourne View

Here at Bourne View we held a beautiful Celebration of Life event.

Together we put on a lovely social afternoon, watching a slide show of past loved ones and taking great comfort seeing our wonderful memories on the screen. We read various poems as a group, from poets such as Henry Van Dyke and David Harkins. Our slide show was finished off by singing together “A Creed For Our Home”.

Family and residents went into the garden and blew bubbles up into the sky, taking a moment to reflect. Our six values books from 2019 to present day became our highlight of conversation over cup of tea. We brought our afternoon to a close by planting our forget me not seeds next to a beautiful, tall blue flower, ceanothus, which will be displayed on our roof top terrace.

Residents and families have gone away with memory tags which, if they want to, they will fill out and give back for us to put on display to share their thoughts.
