Countdown With Canford

Today, we were joined by students from Canford School, who brought fun games and activities for our residents.

They introduced some new favourites followed by a challenging quiz.

The day began with Last Letter First, where residents created new words starting with the last letter of the previous word. Next, we played the daily Wordle. Starting with Mary’s word “Bread,” it only took one extra guess to complete the puzzle with “Beard”— a lucky start that led perfectly into Countdown.

During Countdown, residents had 30 seconds to form the longest words possible from nine random letters. Irene impressed with “departed,” using eight of the nine letters, while Jenette came up with “goatee” despite being challenged with six vowels!

Residents love spending time with the students, and their energy and enthusiasm always bring a smile. These visits are eagerly anticipated and truly brighten everyone’s day!
