Enjoying A Singalong After Lunch
The lounge was buzzing with excitement for our fortnightly singalong after lunch today.
Residents truly relish the diverse song sheets provided by Julie, which feature a mix of tunes from different eras.
From songs from the shows to wartime favourites, and popular artists spanning the 30s to the 70s, there’s something for everyone.
This week, we belted out classics like “Rock Around the Clock,” “Don’t Sit Under the Apple Tree,” “On Mother Kelly’s Doorstep,” and “Hometown,” among others.
To keep the atmosphere relaxed and enjoyable, we sing acapella, with plenty of pauses for reminiscing, turning pages, laughter, and the occasional solo!
As the hour comes to a close, we eagerly pause for tea and cakes. There’s a sense of accomplishment, well-being, and camaraderie as we reflect on the songs we’ve sung and the memories they’ve evoked, like the feeling of dancing all night.
It’s truly a delightful way to spend an afternoon together.
