Gardening Club

At Bourne View, we know the power of gardening in care homes.

So, with the sun shining, we couldn’t resist heading outside to soak up the warmth and get a breath of fresh air. Our dedicated team member, Corinne, organised a lovely gardening activity for our residents.

On the patio tables, we placed flowerpots, compost, and beautiful bedding plants, creating the perfect setup for a gardening activity. Everyone had the opportunity to get their hands dirty, but for those who preferred a more relaxed time, the garden chairs provided the perfect spot to unwind and bask in the sunlight.

During the gardening session, we selected Impatiens in white, coral, and salmon shades, along with a vibrant blue Lobelia, creating a wonderful contrast of colours. We can’t wait to watch these plants grow and trail down the garden pots and add an extra touch of beauty to our garden.

Gardening activities not only bring joy and a sense of accomplishment, but they also offer numerous benefits for our residents, including improved well-being, sensory stimulation, and a connection to the natural world.
