Ice Creams On The Quay

Well, the sun has certainly been shining this week, hasn’t it?

Our minibus trip to Poole Quay made us feel like proper holidaymakers. We didn’t quite have knotted hankies on our heads, but an ice cream by the harbourside went down a treat. Our minibus trip began with a highly informative sightseeing tour of six sculptures around Poole.

These included two sculptures on the quay: Lord Baden Powell and Sea Music. However, as we arrived at the quay, the atmosphere suddenly felt like a summer’s day trip to a seaside town.

The gulls were squawking, the sea was twinkling in the sunlight, and there was a salty, seaweed smell in the air. We just had to have ice creams! Oh, what a lovely day we had.”
