International Nurse Day

With all the nurses and care staff we have here at Bourne View, we wanted to do something special for them for International Nurses Day.

Our talented chefs made a wonderful cake while the rest of the team hung banners and bunting and decorated our home, and we spent an hour learning about three amazing nurses’ personal stories.

Our very own Pauline Collins told us her life’s nursing journey – starting with volunteering for St John’s Ambulance. She then went on to train at The Royal Bristol Infirmary and has been nursing in many different capacities ever since.

In the afternoon, we gathered all our fantastic nurses. Our Home Manager Jacky gave a lovely speech, and then we cut the cake, and we all enjoyed a delicious slice with a cuppa.
