National Poetry Day

In celebration of National Poetry Day, we were delighted to welcome students from a local school to share poetry with our residents.

To make the occasion even more special, our residents selected some of their favourite poems for the children to read aloud. This thoughtful exchange not only brought great joy to our residents but also gave the students a wonderful opportunity to discover and appreciate the rich world of poetry cherished by our community.

It was a truly heart-warming and enriching experience for everyone involved. After the readings, the children joined our residents for conversation, filling the room with lively chatter and laughter. One pupil spent time talking with our resident, Wendy, and the two clearly enjoyed each other’s company — ending their visit with a big hug.

We are delighted that the children will be returning just before Christmas to share poetry they have written themselves. We very much look forward to welcoming them back for what promises to be another memorable visit.
