Our Breakfast Club today was a real treat.

Residents enjoyed a tasty continental breakfast after first meeting up in our rooftop Canopy Café for coffee. Peter and Jean opted to sit outside in the sunshine for their drink, then we all gathered around the table to help ourselves to fruit, pastries, cold meats, and cheese – a delicious spread.

Each time, our monthly Breakfast Clubs include a quiz (today’s was about cars, which Mike aced) and other activities like word searches and spot the difference, as well as enjoying each other’s company.

Yvonne, who is 107, praised the friendly atmosphere and said it is a lovely, sociable start to the day. A new feature we have added is our ‘Rise & Shine Monthly’ good-news paper. This is a heart-warming collection of positive news stories from this country and around the world, which turned out to be a great hit with everyone today, and another element that makes our Breakfast Club special. As always, everyone is welcome.

Breakfast Clubs are held on the second Tuesday of each month, and we hope even more early birds will join us in September.
