Wendy’s 95th Birthday

There was plenty to celebrate at Bourne View as resident Wendy Barnes marked her 95th birthday surrounded by friends, Companions and colleagues.

Following lunch, everyone surprised Wendy with a special rendition of Happy Birthday, before presenting her with a beautiful handmade Victoria sponge cake. Created by the kitchen team and decorated with flowers freshly picked from the garden, the cake was admired by Wendy for its beautiful detail.

In a lovely gesture, Wendy decided to save the cake for afternoon tea so that everyone at Bourne View could share in her birthday celebrations.

“It was certainly a memorable birthday,” Wendy said. “Thank you to everyone who made it special.”
