Winners of Giant Scrabble
On a wintery afternoon in January, we decided to cosy ourselves up warm inside and forget the dismal, grey weather outside.
The giant scrabble board was assembled in our big lounge and the residents organised themselves into 4 teams. The game commenced with the word ‘Dusk’, scoring a good starting score of 18 points for Joyce and Yvonne. Later John and Peters’s team added ‘Yon’ to the end of ‘Dusky’ giving them a score of 21 points which was our highest-scoring word. Other great words such as Exist, Cello and Goad were also added. Beery was the word that made us laugh the most.
At the end of the game, our fantastic winners were Joyce and Yvonne. They were over the moon with the result, and they complimented each other for both working so well together. As a companion, I was especially pleased with the result as I know the average age of these two amazing ladies. It is 101!
