Concert At A Local School

The local school is just along Stratford Road from Braemar Lodge. The home’s west garden boundary, edges the playing field of South Wilts Grammar School.

We were recently invited again to join the students for a games, concert and tea party afternoon, and several of our residents gladly took up the opportunity for a trip out to meet the young people.

As ever, we were warmly welcomed by the students, directed to tables, and were offered refreshments – hot and cold drinks and a scrumptious selection of home-made cakes, cookies, fudge and savouries. The young folk chatted with our residents and played table games with them – and we learned some new ones!

Then the concert began, which consisted of a range of styles, including piano pieces, the Enrichment Band, a cello performance, two soloists, and the school rock band. We were also invited to have a singalong. Our residents thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon – the conversations, the games, food and music.
