Our Very Own Queen’s Guides

In honour of the anniversary of the birth of Lord Robert Baden-Powell (1857) and Lady Olave Baden-Powell (1889) we had an afternoon of all things Scouting and Guiding.
As well as learning about the history of these organisations, residents shared their experiences of being a Guide or Scout.
Two of our residents, June and Catherine, had achieved the highest honour as Guides – the Queen’s Guide Award.
June brought along her self-embroidered neckerchief, and sash displaying her many badges, which was marvelled over by the group. It was a fascinating afternoon, and a joy to learn more about each other’s lives.
