Winter Gardening

Our gardener, Sarah, runs regular sessions with residents.
Our recent session began with residents looking at photographs of the new garden, which is part of the Braemar Lodge extension, and Sarah describing the planting and further plans. Residents have been involved in sharing their thoughts on the planning that has gone on thus far and continued to ask further questions.
Sarah then showed us a short film about the Dutch garden designer Piet Oudolf, who aims for a natural and wild look in gardens, with focus on structure of plants and flowers as much as colour. This is the aim for some of the garden area around the new building.
The residents then made some Christmas decorations using foliage and greenery from the garden, plus a few bought flowers to add further colour.
We made double use of these creations in a still life painting session the following day.
