Our Gardens

At Colten Care, we pride ourselves on our beautiful and stimulating gardens. We recognise that many of our residents had such gardens themselves, and that gardening may have been a special pastime for them. We like to think that we can offer residents the opportunity to continue that pastime in whatever way they feel appropriate.

Whether you enjoy walking amongst the blossoming buds, or just simply wish to keep a watchful eye on the sparrows and squirrels, we hope you find a piece of the garden to make your own.

"I really enjoy the way the gardens here have developed and changed over the last five years. I especially enjoy growing the fruit and vegetables for the residents, and it's great to work with a kitchen who are keen to use my efforts, and help water it all! The companionship team are also good at helping out. The residents always appreciate the gardens, and give good feedback which I always enjoy! They especially enjoy the pond area, and the beautiful roses surrounding it. The change in seasons are also good here – the beautiful colours of September through to November make all that leaf clearing worthwhile!"
