A Minibus Trip Down Memory Lane
When David joined us at Brook View, his one wish was to revisit Poole, where he had lived for over 28 years.
We took a tour of Oakdale, where he used to reside with his wife. As we explored, David shared memories with the group about buying his first house after his wedding and the cherished moments he and his wife experienced in Poole.
David’s profession was as the head of plumbing at a branch in Lansdown, Bournemouth, which meant he frequently travelled across Christchurch, Bournemouth, and Poole for work. He also upgraded the plumbing in his own house, much to his wife’s delight. As we passed through areas David used to enjoy, he was amazed by how much Poole had changed, with new road systems and many more houses built.
We made a pit stop at Poole Park, where he had fond memories of spending his days off enjoying picnics. Resident Mary Cole, who accompanied David on this trip, said, “I have many fond memories of Poole Park through the years. I have taken three generations on their Noddy train. It feels comforting to be back here.”
