A Rainy-Day Adventure to Sandbanks

Joan wished to go to Sandbanks and had missed out on a couple of occasions as she hadn’t felt well, so today, full of fighting spirit and in spite of the rain, we set off!
Our lovely driver took us on a scenic route, taking in the views of Brownsea Island and watching the brave windsurfers. We eventually parked up overlooking the bay to Studland and enjoyed watching the comings and goings of the chain ferry.
In the distance, we saw lifeguards carrying out a training exercise and spotted a Border Force ship sailing out of the bay, all while taking in the birdlife, including cormorants diving for fish.
Our plans to hop out for an ice cream were slightly scuppered by the weather, but Joan chose to enjoy a cup of tea from our trusty thermos instead!
