Boris The Beekeeper

Today, we had a visit from Boris the local beekeeper who gave a presentation on bees and beekeeping.

Boris and his son brought in several displays to show the process of how he keeps bee’s and extracts honey. He started by showing our residents the frames and boxes that his bees are kept in. He then passed around the utensils that are used to extract honey.

Before sharing some honey with residents, he passed around a few samples of wax. At the end of the presentation our residents were delighted to try some of his fresh honey which they all agreed was delicious.

Our resident Barbara commented that she learned a lot, and she really enjoyed the presentation from Boris. Boris was kind enough to gift us five jars of his honey which were given to our chef to use in the future!
