‘Chooks Away’, Our Newest Game

Some of our residents looked quite puzzled when Companion Jo arrived with cups, gloves, elastic bands, and feather dusters!

She proceeded to explain that the afternoon’s activity, called “Chooks Away,” was intentionally light-hearted, aimed at bringing smiles and even hearty laughter. It was delightful to overhear the ladies and gentlemen speculating about what we might be doing. As the activity progressed, they began to realise that we were going to inflate our chickens, and this realisation brought smiles to their faces.

After decorating our gloves with faces and feathers, everyone had the chance to inflate their chicken. To everyone’s amusement, they could then suck their chicken back into the cup!

Resident Rosa laughed heartily throughout her walk in the garden and eagerly looks forward to showing her son during his next visit!
