Here come the Alpacas!

Following an activity meeting, residents asked for some animals to visit the home.

When asked what type of animals, residents said the ‘the bigger the better’ so, we welcomed in Wendy from alpaca adventure, with her two freshly trimmed alpacas, six-year-old Guinness and one year old Anton.

Residents, relatives, and staff were all amazed at these fascinating creatures who were on their absolute best behaviour. “I have never seen an animal like it, are they real” exclaimed resident Leah.

Everyone was taken by the alpacas, we soon learned that they loved a stroke on their lovely long necks. They were so well behaved, giving a little foot stamp when they need to go to the toilet. Wendy from Alpaca Adventure has raised over 30 Alpacas to date with having a baby girl alpaca birthed the very morning she came to visit.

At the end of the session Rosa said, “I have had a wonderful afternoon, you make such a difference to our lives!”
