Reminiscing the musical decades
Residents at Brook View recently took a delightful journey through the decades of music.
We engaged in discussions about the evolution of music formats, from LPs and compact discs to mp3 players and radios. To their pleasant surprise, residents learned that record players are making a comeback in people’s homes, prompting Iona to exclaim, “I wish I never sold all my records now.”
Barbara shared a cherished memory from her 21st birthday when she visited the West End and watched a play. Given her proximity to London, Barbara was fortunate to visit the West End multiple times, revealing that her favourite musical is ‘The Sound of Music.’
Our conversation also touched on the experiences of being in a choir during younger years, with many residents recalling their participation in Sunday School choirs.
Ellen added a fascinating historical perspective, mentioning that ticket prices for musicals at the theatre used to be five shillings when she visited years ago. The exchange of memories and stories created a nostalgic and engaging session for everyone involved.
