Silver Brook Choir
Our weekly choir practice continues to be a big hit, and after singing our usual repertoire, Companion Elizabeth decided to introduce us to a new Christmas song called ‘Noel.’
This song held special significance for her, as she had sung it in the children’s choir of the Salvation Army in Romford, Essex. Adding a touch of humour, she playfully modified the words of the third verse, changing “I am just a child, but I can sing, sing, sing” to “though I’m growing old, I still can sing, sing, sing.”
This alteration brought laughter and joy to the residents, enhancing the festive atmosphere.
Residents also got into the Christmas spirit by dressing up for the occasion.
The choir session was filled with merriment and camaraderie, and there’s always room to add new songs to our repertoire.
Who knows what joyful tunes we’ll sing in the next session!
