Silver Brook Choir
With residents in position and choir books distributed, the newly formed ‘Silver Brook Choir’ began with the first song in the book and a number from the musical Oklahoma; ‘Oh what a beautiful morning’ and the hour continued with more show songs from The King and I and My Fair Lady.
On other occasions, songs from the Sound of Music and Carousel are also very much enjoyed. Other songs in the book are Blue Moon, Catch a Falling Star, Skye Boat Song, It’s a long way to Tipperary, Somewhere Over the Rainbow, Moon River, It’s a Wonderful World and many more.
Today, a group of 17 residents enjoyed a variety of songs with Companion Elizabeth, who introduced a new song with a brass band accompaniment, ‘The wind beneath my wings’ which had been a request from one of the residents.
It is clear there is much enjoyment from these musical afternoons, and everyone was looking forward to the next time to blow the cobwebs from the vocal cords!
