VE Day

Our VE Day celebrations kicked off with a special game of bingo.
Every laminated bingo sheet was adorned with various colourful pictures associated with World War Two. Such as Churchill’s cigars and bowler hat.
Residents also reminisced about their memories of the war and one of our residents, Janet, shared that she had even met Churchill after the war.
After resident Paula won the game of Bingo, there were two VE Day quizzes to tax our brains. Everyone enjoyed the activities and were excited with what the rest of the day was going to hold: with an afternoon tea in the garden, including entertainment from ex-veteran Neil Wookey – who would be singing many old wartime songs and playing his guitar.
Certainly, a day to remember!
