Visit from Westbourne Academy

Today, we had the pleasure of meeting students from Japan, who had travelled to England to visit Westbourne Academy – a local multilingual School. 

The students are originally from Kanda Institute in Japan and joined us for the afternoon to chat with our residents. 

Over the course of the afternoon, they showed off their traditional kimonos. They explained that it takes about an hour to put on and in summertime, they wear a yukata: which is a cotton version, which is lighter and cooler. 

The students demonstrated the art of origami and made some cranes, demonstrating each step of the process. Afterwards we enjoyed chatting about their experience of England, their home, and life in Japan.
