A Visit to Salisbury Cathedral

After several days of rain, residents enjoyed a sunny minibus trip to Salisbury Cathedral.

During the journey, residents chatted about the recent local flooding, spotting areas affected as they travelled through the countryside.

On arrival, residents took time to admire the cathedral’s scale and craftsmanship. Pam described it as “pure brilliance and workmanship.” Inside, residents explored information panels and spoke with staff about conservation work and hidden architectural features, including the bumping stone and concealed stairways. The cathedral’s long-held traditions for clergy and choristers also sparked interest and discussion.

The visit encouraged conversation, curiosity, and reflection. Residents are already looking forward to returning later in the year to enjoy the surroundings again, hopefully with a picnic in the sunshine.
