An Afternoon at The Avon Causeway

A few of our residents recently expressed a wish to enjoy a drink out together!

Our residents, particularly Betty, hadn’t visited a pub in quite some time. Always eager to make these moments happen, our team quickly made a plan, and off we went to The Avon Causeway Pub.

Steeped in history, this charming venue was once a train station on the old Hurn Line. Its beautifully restored Pullman carriage, now used for functions, offered a delightful step back in time and set the perfect backdrop for an afternoon of relaxation.

With glasses raised and conversations flowing, stories were shared—from cherished holiday memories to reflections on life at Canford Chase.

We returned home with plenty of smiles and talk of future outings—a reminder that sometimes, the simplest moments create the most lasting joy.
