Armed Forces Day with Kelly Lorraine

On the 29th of June, the country celebrates Armed Forces Day, so we celebrated this day a day early.
We had the wonderful vocals of Kelly Lorraine entertain our residents with mostly tunes from the 50s and 60s, an era that our residents know well. There were hits such as “Top of the World” by The Carpenters and “Living Doll” by Cliff Richard, which everyone sang along to, reminiscing about times gone by.
Kelly also sang some wartime requests such as “We’ll Meet Again” by Vera Lynn and “(There’ll Be Bluebirds Over) The White Cliffs of Dover.” We had Union Jack flags waving and donned our Union Jack hats as we danced and sang, bringing together residents and staff. Many commented on Kelly’s amazing vocals and how lovely it was to get together and enjoy the afternoon.
