Art of Marbling

Learning a new skill and hobbies to keep our minds active.
Marbling can be done in a multiple of ways, and on different materials. For our first attempt we used the cold-water method with nail polish. Using a bowl of water not to shallow or deep, add drops of nail polish to the water and then dip the bottom side or all the item in the water. Using cups, we added nail polish to the water and dipped the cup in covering the base and roughly halfway up. The most important decision was which colours to combine. Would it be two or three, maybe even four. The water combines the nail polish to make a swirled/marble pattern. The cup is left to dry over night or till set depending on how warm your room is. Both Edna and Peggy had lots of ideas of items we could marble next time. Like ceramic dishes, handmade clay items and vases. The afternoon chatter was about the finish and how each cup was unique. A simple craft which anyone, no matter of their limitations, could try, or be assisted to have a go.
