From seed to harvest in the garden

Residents at Canford Chase have been following the progress of pea plants they sowed in early April, tending them carefully as they grew through the spring and into early summer.
Angela Way, Dorothy Gilks and Wendy (Dorothy’s daughter) have been regularly watering the plants, watching as flowers formed and pods began to develop. Over time, the garden has become a familiar place for checking on their progress and noting each stage of growth.
Recently, Roger helped with the harvest, gathering the ripe peas ready to be enjoyed later in the day. Residents shared the freshly picked peas together, commenting on their sweetness and flavour.
Attention now turns to the next stage of the garden, with tomatoes beginning their growth and more to look forward to in the weeks ahead.
