Making Bird Feeders

We tried a new and exciting activity at Canford Chase, making Bird Feeders, where several lovely residents joined in the fun.

To avoid any mess, we made sure to put on our protective gear before starting. First, we tied some string around the pinecones so they could be easily hung in the garden. Then, we covered the pinecones with honey and twisted them in a bowl filled with peanut butter. We wanted to make sure that all the gaps were filled with the sticky mixture, so the bird seeds would stick to the pinecones.

The process was so enjoyable, and we ended up making a few bird feeders. At suppertime, I went to the garden and hung them up, so the residents could see their fantastic creations. It was a lovely and rewarding activity that brought smiles to our faces and provided a special treat for the feathered friends in our garden.
