Making Homemade Lemonade

6 May 2026

Residents at Canford Chase spent the afternoon making homemade lemonade.

As they worked, conversation turned to the jugs of lemonade often served at family dinners and summer barbecues.

Sugar was stirred into cold water while Angela zested the lemons and oranges. Residents then took turns squeezing the fruit by hand, with several remarking that it was more of a workout than they had expected. Once the juice was added, a little of the zest was stirred through for extra flavour and colour.

The lemonade was poured and tasted straight away. It proved popular, and residents were soon discussing other flavours they might like to make next.
