National Biscuit Day

We celebrated National Biscuit Day with a Tea & Togetherness event.
We started our day by making our own filled custard creams, chocolate bourbons, and Doncaster nuts, which we later enjoyed with friends over a cup of tea.
Conversation flowed about the history of the humble biscuit and the invention of some of our favourites. Did you know sailors used to use their biscuits as postcards, as they were very hard and sometimes not edible. They would write on them and send them back home with passing ships.
Ultimately, it was decided that chocolate biscuits and shortbread are among our favourites: they are tasty, crisp, and very dunk-able!
