National Fitness Day
Staying active and prioritising fitness is a top priority for us at Canford.
Physical games like balloon tennis and armchair football are some of our favourites. Recently, we decided to embark on a charitable journey in our garden. Residents came together to walk, chat, and even sing their way around our garden.
Our challenge was to collectively complete 150 laps by walking or rolling, and we spread this task over two days due to the uncertain weather forecast. Fortunately, we were blessed with two lovely warm days, albeit overcast, which provided ideal conditions for our walk. The event sparked a friendly competition among us, as we tried to surpass each other’s lap counts and speed.
This was a heart-warming event to be a part of, and it has inspired us to continue fundraising in the future. In the end, we managed to walk 207 laps and raised £60 for Julia’s House. Well done to everyone who participated!
