Residents Take Part in Spelling Bee Challenge

Residents at Canford Chase enjoyed a fun and friendly spelling bee in the lounge, following a request from Ruth.

The session began with some simple words to get everyone warmed up, and residents confidently worked their way through the first round. The challenge then increased with words such as beautiful and library, which were successfully tackled by the group — although chocolate proved a little more difficult as everyone tried to remember where all the letters belonged!

The laughter continued when it was Roger’s turn. When asked to spell a word, the room erupted when he confidently replied, “R-O-G-E-R!” after hearing his name called.

The final round featured some of the trickier words we use every day, including accommodation and necessary. After plenty of discussion and encouragement, Ruth impressed everyone by spelling them correctly and receiving a well-deserved round of applause.

The spelling bee was a wonderful afternoon of teamwork, laughter and friendly competition, with residents supporting and encouraging one another throughout.
