Rupert The Bear

Our home was delighted when Colten Care Companionship Manager, Rupert, came to visit the home.

One of our residents, Elizabeth, always talks about how much she loves ‘Rupert The Bear.’ She tells us wonderful stories from her childhood in Wales, when she used to go to the shops and spend her money on Rupert the Bear comics and the annual books. She loved reading about the adventures of Rupert and all the other characters in the comics.

With that in mind, we had a great idea. We decided to buy the books for Elizabeth and give them to her as a surprise. We also introduced our own Rupert to make it even more special.

Elizabeth was overjoyed by the surprise, and she had a great time talking with Rupert about all her memories of Rupert The Bear. She also told us about her Welsh bear named Gareth, who looked a bit like Rupert.

Elizabeth was extremely grateful and she told the other staff members how much she loved the books.
