Sunflowers
We had an activity of flower making with two of our residents.
They created a Sunflower, the scientific name is Helianthus. This comes from the Greek word for Sun. These are classic flowers which love facing the sun and as the day had a lot of sunshine we decided these were the ones to design. First of all the ladies coloured in the florets with the brown pencil shading and then cut the stem out and stuck it onto the paper with glue. Then they stuck some of the petals around the circle. The ladies said it was relaxing and enjoyed the activity.
