Sunny Day Adventures

21 May 2024

Tuesday was a warm, sunny day, perfect for exploring on our minibus trip.

With clear blue skies and the sun shining, we decided to head to Cliff Drive, as the views on such clear days are wonderful. Upon arrival, we decided to head further down the drive, as there were a few construction teams busy working. We then drove to Sandbanks, where we found a lovely spot overlooking the harbour.

We parked, opened the doors of the bus, and enjoyed a nice cup of tea and a couple of biscuits. Pam mentioned how peaceful the sea looked, and it was serene listening to the waves come and go. After lunch, we headed to the New Forest for the afternoon, specifically towards Fritham Pond, where we found an ice cream van. Since it was such a lovely day, we thought it would be rude not to have a ‘Mr Whippy’ ice cream.

Everyone agreed they were delicious. As we ate, we watched the New Forest ponies running around, and we were even more delighted when a stallion arrived! “He could at least treat them to dinner and a date before chasing them,” exclaimed Carol, which made us all laugh.

The New Forest was blooming with different colours and new life could be seen all over, from new foals and calves to lots of birds. Just behind us, several deer were relaxing in the warm weather. On our journey back to Canford Chase, we spotted many young animals and more deer.

We enjoyed a wonderful time exploring on such a warm day.
