World Rum Day

World Rum Day started with pirate legends and history where we heard about the tales of Anne Bonney and Mary Read, the tales of Blackbeard and many more.
After a spot of lunch, we made rum and raisin fudge and chocolate and rum truffles using condensed milk, chocolate and some double cream. Our final ingredient was Kraken dark rum, which is lightly spiced and gave a smooth flavour.
Carol and Anne were given the honour to make the fudge with Audrey and Cynthia watching on and guiding. Once ready, we popped them into the kitchen to set.
We couldn’t finish our day without a cocktail where we made a Dark Abyss, which is made of coconut water, pineapple juice, and dark rum in a garnished glass.
