A Countryside Trip to Abbotsbury

Residents from Castle View enjoyed a scenic drive through the Dorset countryside before arriving at a welcoming café in the heart of Abbotsbury. Along the way, they passed rolling fields, local villages and Jersey calves grazing in the sunshine.

Over tea, coffee, Dorset apple cake and lemon scones, the group settled into an afternoon of conversation. Doreen and Violet admired the café’s floral displays and colourful murals, while Brian shared stories about the area’s history, including the neighbouring tithe barn and its role in storing a portion of local farmers’ harvests.

Betty’s family joined the visit, along with their dog Maisie, who received plenty of attention from residents. On the journey home, familiar landmarks prompted more conversation as Brian pointed out his first home and Violet recognised a former local pub.
