Freda lays a wreath to mark the 80th celebrations for D Day

Freda, volunteered for the Royal Navy at the age of 17, this was half due to her family heritage of working in the Navy, she joined too! 

She remembers that prior to the war, recruits were practicing with broom handles to do drills, as the country were not well enough equipped at that point.

Freda, also remembers, that in Poundbury, the actual site that Castle View is situated on, there was a prison of war hut.

In our gardens, Freda proudly lays a wreath to remember everyone that played their part, with Hayley, they companion team leader by her side.
