Jane Austen Exhibit

Doreen, Betty, and Pamela had been eager to visit Dorset Museum to see the Jane Austen: Down To The Sea exhibition.
So, this week, we fulfilled their wish! The exhibition was fascinating, and everyone enjoyed exploring the beautifully recreated rooms from Austen’s era. A highlight was dressing up in period-style hats and outfits, which brought lots of laughter and great photo moments.
We learned how various locations in Dorset had inspired Jane Austen’s writing, making the exhibit even more engaging for the group. The connection to local history sparked many memories and stories among us. Before leaving, we had time to explore other areas of the museum, including the History of Dorset section.
We’re already looking forward to coming back to see the Thomas Hardy exhibition next time!
