Moses in the Cradle

Sylvia King and Pat Hills, who are keen gardeners, were busy repotting a very beautiful plant named Moses in the cradle or basket.
Its Latin name is TRADESCANTIA SPATHSCEA, and it is sometimes referred to as the oyster plant. Known for its structural upright leaves with eye-catching green and purple hues, it makes for an attractive plant, especially when the cradle or basket has flowered, displaying white petals holding the seeds. It grows best in warm climates and is often kept as a house plant.
What makes our plant special is that it has been passed down from one resident to another. We hope to sell them at our charity sale stall in the future.
