Round Of A-paws As Furry Friends Steal The Show

Residents, families and team members at Court Lodge marked International Dog Day with a lively celebration that brought plenty of laughter – and wagging tails.
The home’s garden became the setting for a light-hearted dog show featuring much-loved pets owned by staff, relatives and regular visitors. Categories included Best Looking, Best Behaved and Best Trick, with rosettes awarded for each.

Adding to the fun, everyone joined in a cheerful singalong of How Much Is That Doggy In The Window? before the day’s top honour, Most Liked, was awarded to Ruby, a popular canine who is a regular visitor at Court Lodge.
Companionship Team Leader Julia said: “Residents loved seeing the different personalities shine through in the show and reminiscing about pets they have had themselves over the years. Ruby was a worthy winner – but really, every dog that came along was a star.”

Inernational Dog Day is held each year to celebrate the role of dogs in people’s lives while also raising awareness of those in rescue centres still waiting for permanent homes.
