Court Lodge Celebrates Anne’s 101st Birthday

11 February 2026

Residents and staff at Court Lodge celebrated a very special milestone as Anne turned 101 with a memorable seaside outing to Pebble Beach in Barton On Sea.

As the day approached, Anne, a proud former RAF nurse, shared her wish to celebrate much like she had for her 100th birthday — with a special meal by the sea. She chose Pebble Beach, a restaurant she had fond memories of visiting many years ago.

Anne was delighted that her close friend June, who has remained a constant companion since last year, could join the celebration. The two ladies enjoyed a scenic drive along the coast, taking in the fresh sea air and the anticipation of the special day ahead.

At Pebble Beach, the relaxed atmosphere and stunning coastal views provided the perfect backdrop. Anne savoured lobster ravioli, while June enjoyed the pork belly in cream sauce, both praising the flavours and presentation.

The afternoon was filled with laughter, conversation, and the simple pleasure of sharing time together.

Back at Court Lodge, the celebrations continued with a special birthday cake, personally made by the chef. Residents and staff gathered in the lounge to sing Happy Birthday, presenting the cake to Anne amid smiles, applause, and heartfelt wishes.

Anne reflected on the day with joy, noting that being by the sea, celebrating with a dear friend, and returning to the home for this warm cake presentation made turning 101 a truly memorable experience.

Companionship Team Leader Julia said, “It was a wonderful occasion, perfectly tailored to Anne’s wishes. Seeing her enjoy the food, the views, and the company of a special friend, followed by the cake presentation, made the day truly special.”
