Court Lodge Summer Fayre Raises £600 in Two Hours

3 August 2026

Court Lodge was full of summer cheer as residents, families, staff and visitors came together for the home’s Summer Fayre and much-loved Dog Show.

The afternoon offered plenty to enjoy, with a raffle, cake sale, tombola and live music creating a lively atmosphere.

The highlight for many was the dog show, where four-legged visitors competed in a series of entertaining categories including Wiggliest Tail, Most Likely to Take Home, Best Trick, and Best Biscuit Catcher.

Resident Joan, Sue, and Companion Hilary took on the important role of judging the competition, with plenty of difficult decisions to make among the talented canine contenders.

The event was also a fantastic fundraising success, raising an impressive £600 in less than two hours. Funds will support the home’s chosen charity, Olivia Inspires.

Companionship Team Leader Julia said: “It was wonderful to see so many residents, families and members of our local community enjoying the afternoon together. The dog show was a particular highlight, but we were equally delighted by the generosity of everyone who supported our fundraising. Raising £600 in such a short time was a fantastic achievement.”

Court Lodge would like to thank everyone who attended, bought tickets, donated cakes and supported the event, as well as the local businesses who generously contributed prizes including afternoon teas, hampers and vouchers.

It was a wonderful afternoon of community, companionship and fundraising, with plenty of wagging tails along the way.
