Vernon’s Beaulieu Wish Comes True

Court Lodge recently helped fulfil a long-held wish for resident Vernon, whose lifelong enthusiasm for Formula 1 inspired a special trip to the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu.
A keen follower of Formula 1 since childhood, Vernon was particularly pleased to visit the museum because of his family’s connection to the sport through his nephew. The outing gave him the opportunity to spend time exploring a collection that spans both classic motoring and motorsport history.

Among the exhibits, one vehicle stood out in particular: a 1960 Triumph Herald, a car Vernon once owned himself. Seeing the model again prompted memories of his years behind the wheel. During the visit, Vernon spoke fondly about driving and recalled that the last car he travelled in was a Ferrari.
Vernon was joined by fellow residents Peter T and Peter S, who also enjoyed the day and welcomed the chance to share the experience together.

Companion Team Leader Julia said: “Vernon has spoken many times about his love of Formula 1, so it was a pleasure to help make this visit happen. Seeing him revisit cars that meant so much to him made the day particularly special.”
Reflecting on the outing, Vernon said: “I had a really nice day and thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved seeing all the classic cars, especially my old MG, but my favourites had to be the F1 cars. What a great day, thank you.”

Court Lodge Triumphs in Colten Winter Olympics

Court Lodge residents went all out for the Colten Winter Olympics, embracing every event with enthusiasm and competitive spirit.
Joining them were five contenders from neighbouring Belmore Lodge, accompanied by their Companionship Team Leader, Sharon.

The event schedule, designed by Court Lodge’s companion Kay, ensured that all residents could participate fully, with equal opportunities to shine.
Activities included snowflake stacking, snowball throwing, ribbon twirling, and a grand finale snowball fight between audience and competitors.
The competition was close, but Court Lodge ultimately pulled ahead, securing four medals and claiming the overall gold cup.

The day concluded with tea, cake, and plenty of photographs, celebrating both the residents’ achievements and the joy of friendly competition.
Companionship Team Leader Julia said, “It was wonderful to see everyone joining in so enthusiastically, enjoying the games, and sharing so many smiles together.”

Court Lodge Residents Celebrate Summer with Sports Day

As August drew to a close in Lymington, residents at Court Lodge came together for a spirited afternoon of fun, laughter, and light-hearted competition. The care home’s Activities Lounge was transformed into the setting for a classic sports day, bringing a joyful close to the summer season.
Everyone had the chance to get involved, whether taking part in events or cheering from the side-lines with colourful pompoms.
Two teams — red and blue — competed enthusiastically in traditional games including the egg-and-spoon race, bean bag toss, and quoits.

The highlight for many was the sack race, which saw companions take on the leadership team to the delight of the residents.
The contest remained close throughout, but it was the blue team who eventually claimed victory.
Friends Margaret and Eileen led the celebrations, proudly accepting medals and trophies before joining fellow residents and staff for a well-earned cup of tea and a slice of homemade cake.
The sports day was just one of many activities on Court Lodge’s calendar, designed to keep residents engaged, active, and connected.
