Our Gardens

At Colten Care, we pride ourselves on our beautiful and stimulating gardens. We recognise that many of our residents had such gardens themselves, and that gardening may have been a special pastime for them. We like to think that we can offer residents the opportunity to continue that pastime in whatever way they feel appropriate.

Whether you enjoy walking amongst the blossoming buds, or just simply wish to keep a watchful eye on the sparrows and squirrels, we hope you find a piece of the garden to make your own.

"Our residents really do enjoy the gardens here, and recently I’ve had quite a lot of help from one lady, who often helps with picking up leaves, twigs and any litter. Later in summer, the garden is brightened with the residents sunflower competition! Always guaranteed flowers! Relatives have also been bringing in tomatoes and grow-bags for me to grow them in - and the fruit trees we’ve planted in recent years have all grown and produced well. There’s some improvements coming to some of the garden spaces soon - I think we’ll all enjoy seeing what that will bring!"
